Finding a job in the Ontario Skilled Trades, construction and engineering sectors can be a challenge, especially for those who are not familiar with Canada’s Work Culture. As a prospective immigrant, it is helpful to inform yourself on Ontario’s culture and practices before starting your job search. Questions to ask yourself before immigrating:

  • How does Ontario regulate the trades?
  • How does Ontario regulate engineering? 
  • Do I need to be licenced to be able to work in my trade? 
  • What are the strategies used to find employment? 

So you’ve completed the research for your Skilled Trade, and you feel ready to start applying for jobs.
