Be Your Own Boss: Choosing Entrepreneurship

If you are interested in being your own boss and working on your own time, entrepreneurship may be the pathway that best suits your needs. Opening a business, like anything else has its advantages as well as its disadvantages so it is always important to do your own research before committing to anything.

Settlement.Org offers the following advice: Some of the advantages are having the freedom and flexibility of choosing your own working hours, who you want as your clients and getting paid your worth because YOU decide the income and amount of profit coming in and lastly choosing your own vacation time! Some disadvantages are that there is less security, meaning it is up to you to keep looking for the “next thing” to help build revenue, lack of paid benefits which can be expensive, and of course making sure you’re organized, this includes tax forms for when it is time to pay taxes. However when you invest in yourself it can pay off. The Skilled Trades, for example, offers many opportunities for you to open a business and embark on the Entrepreneurship Pathway. Read an article about Entrepreneurship, written by ACCES’s Entrepreneurship Connections, on our blog page.
